Dilip-Saira -Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu had an age difference of 22 years, but they did not let this come in between their evergreen love. Saira Banu had always been a big fan of the 'King of Tragedy', Dilip Kumar, but the thought of getting married to him never occurred to her. Like any beautiful woman, she had her own share of suitors including the already married Rajendra Kumar. But her mother, Naseem, disapproved and instead offered her daughter’s hand in marriage to Dilip Kumar. They got married in 1966 when Saira was just 22. Saira gave up acting altogether after a few years.Saira stood by her husband even when the news of his alleged marriage with a Pakistani girl, Asma, came out. He was heartbroken when he realised that Asma, was cheating on him as well as releasing all their secrets to the press. Saira took care of her husband in this difficult time and saw him through it. Even today, it is Saira who takes care of ‘Sahib’, as she lovingly calls her husband. The eternal couple is still very much in love and is often spotted together hand in hand.
