Acharya Balkrishna -Who is Acharya Balkrishna? Well, he is Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's childhood friend and the co-founder of 'Patanjali Ayurved' who has now debuted at No. 48 on the Forbes list of richest Indians owing to his 97% holding in the fast-growing consumer goods outfit. With a revenue of $780 million, Patanjali sells everything from cosmetics to herbal toothpastes, noodles and jams. While the politically well-connected Ramdev holds no shares in the company, he is Patanjali's de facto brand ambassador, with Balkrishna running the operations. Among other things, Balkrishna oversees 5,000 Patanjali clinics, the Patanjali University and a yoga and Ayurveda research institute. The profits earned from Patanjali are apparently donated to various trusts and charities.
