Raw veggies -This one’s a little confusing isn’t it? Raw veggies are low in calories and packed with nutrients, so seem like a great healthy food choice. So what’s the problem? It’s that they just might not be substantial enough for a post-workout meal when your body needs high-protein, high-quality carbohydrates, and calories. Filling up on raw veggies might be easy, but sadly they don’t give you enough of the calories, proteins, fibre, and nutrients you need to help repair muscles and restore energy. These veggies are best had cooked and combined with other healthy food. If you really want to have them raw, then you need to make them more substantial. One way is by having them with protein heavy dips or hummus, but stay away from the creamy, fatty dips.
