Bajrangi Bhaijaan -The makers of the runaway hit from 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, were slapped with a Rs. 50 crores copyright infringement case by director and TV producer Mahim Joshi, who claimed that the entire plot, and even some locations, were ripped off from a script that he had written. Joshi claimed that he had registered his story, in July 2007, with the Indian Film and Television Producers Council and the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers, and had approached a few production houses to produce it. The project, according to Joshi, was meant to be his launch pad, and thus the copyright was ‘career damaging.’ The makers of the film – Salman Khan, his production house, and director Kabir Khan’s banner, T Series and music composer Pritam, have also been accused of using the qawwali ‘Bhar Do Jholi’, in the film, without taking due permission from the person who owns the rights of song - Abdul Samee Siddiqui. He had bought the rights from the Pakistani Sabri borthers, whose father, late Ghulam Farid Sabri composed the qawwali.
